General

I originally started using Etsy back in 2008 with my first handmade business and it was a great marketplace!  They really helped out small businesses and artists and stuck to the vintage, handmade or supplies!  When you search Etsy today, you can find an overwhelming amount of listings of items being sold from China and they aren’t even handmade!  It seems as though Etsy is changing, but not for the better.

The most recent change had to do with shipping.  They have “suggested” that all sellers offer “free shipping” to US buyers by adding the shipping cost into the product price (how is that FREE SHIPPING?)!  They went even further to say that sellers that do this will be given the top spots in Etsy search!  This means that all of my items had to have shipping built in so Etsy could say they had “free shipping” AND if you bought more than one item, you were overcharged on shipping!  I didn’t want to do that but I didn’t want to be lost on page 50 (or who knows what page) either because then my products wouldn’t even be seen!

Unfortunately, Etsy isn’t about helping out the buyer or seller anymore, it seems they are all about the money!

Here is an example of what happens when a seller offers actual free shipping on an inexpensive item!  Let’s use a $4.00 tumbled crystal as an example!

BUYER: Pays $4.00 and gets free shipping

SELLER:
Receives $4.00
Pays $3.09 for shipping
Paid $0.20 to list the item
Pays $0.37 in credit card fees
Pays $0.20 to Etsy
BALANCE: $0.14

That doesn’t include the cost of the crystal itself, the freebie in your order, the packaging (box, sticker, business card, crinkle shred, tissue paper), if the buyer uses a coupon etc. so I’ll be out of business in no time at all!  It’s not that I don’t want to offer free shipping, I just cannot afford it!

If I would add shipping into the cost of the product and the buyer purchased more than one item, then they over paid!  And that’s not really free shipping is it?

If so, please use our contact page and then I can add the Q & A here!

Payment & Orders

We accept PayPal as well as credit cards via Stripe.

You should receive a download email as soon as your payment clears.

products & services

-Use the highest quality paper you can, I prefer using matte photo paper (not just copy paper or cardstock) which comes in different weights similar to copy paper and cardstock)
-don’t use knock-off inks, I have had really bad experiences with those and I only buy canon brand ink
-set your printer to the correct settings for the paper you are using and at the highest quality

I think it would still work if you use the matte photo paper.  If not, you can always get items printed for your locally (office supply stores).
